Laboratories
M.A.M. College of Nursing is equipped with a wide range of modern and well-maintained laboratories that provide students with extensive hands-on training in various areas of nursing practice. Each lab is designed to simulate a real clinical environment where students can develop essential nursing skills through observation, practice, and guided learning under the supervision of experienced faculty members.
Our laboratories are furnished with cots, mannequins, models, articles, and equipment necessary for professional skill development. Students gain confidence through practical exposure, learning by trial and improvement in a supportive and controlled setting.
1. Nursing Foundations Laboratory
The Nursing Foundations Laboratory serves as the cornerstone for developing basic nursing skills.
- Fully equipped with all essential articles and instruments required for nursing practice.
- Spacious, well-ventilated, and adequately lit to ensure a comfortable learning environment.
- Includes a dedicated area for teaching isolation techniques and infection control procedures.
- Features an Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Dummy, allowing students to practice life-saving first aid measures during cardiac arrest and emergency situations.
This lab helps students master fundamental nursing procedures before they are introduced to real patient care in clinical settings.
2. Anatomy & Physiology Laboratory
The Anatomy & Physiology Laboratory helps students understand the structure and function of the human body, which forms the foundation of all nursing practice.
- Equipped with three full-body skeletons and numerous loose bones to support detailed study of human anatomy.
- Contains a wide collection of anatomical charts, models, and specimens covering all body systems.
- Enables students to correlate theoretical knowledge with practical understanding through visual and tactile learning.
3. Nutrition Laboratory
The Nutrition Laboratory is designed to train students in the principles of dietetics and nutrition—an essential component of patient care.
- Equipped with LPG gas connections, hand-washing facilities, and ample storage space for both dry and perishable food items.
- Contains modern cooking and demonstration tools such as pressure cookers, mixers, and microwave ovens.
- A dedicated dining and serving area enables students to learn food presentation, serving etiquette, and meal planning for different health conditions.
This lab helps future nurses understand the importance of nutrition and dietary management in promoting health and recovery.
4. Biochemistry & Microbiology Laboratory
A modern and well-planned lab that supports learning in microbiological and biochemical analysis.
- Equipped with Sterilizers, Hot Air Oven, Laminar Airflow Chamber, Centrifuge, Microscopes, Autoclave, Hemoglobin Meter, Spectrometer, and Epidiascope.
- Students perform practical experiments to understand the principles of infection control, microbial growth, and diagnostic testing.
- Facilitates scientific learning through observation and hands-on experience in laboratory techniques.
5. Computer Laboratory
The college’s Computer Laboratory provides students with digital literacy and research skills essential for modern healthcare practice.
- Spacious, air-conditioned lab equipped with 25 computers connected to high-speed internet.
- Used for online learning, research, report preparation, and accessing digital journals and nursing databases.
- Promotes computer proficiency essential for healthcare documentation and evidence-based nursing.
6. Maternal & Child Health Nursing (MCH) Laboratory
This lab focuses on practical training in maternity and pediatric nursing care.
- Equipped with delivery tables, mannequins, and all essential obstetric and neonatal instruments.
- Includes four delivery cots with all necessary accessories.
- Separate areas for neonatal assessment, baby bathing, growth and development demonstrations, and a play therapy corner.
- Enables students to learn safe maternity care and child health procedures in a simulated environment.
7. Community Health Nursing Laboratory
This lab provides practical exposure to community-based healthcare and health education.
- Fully furnished with all community health equipment and furniture.
- Equipped with Audio-Visual (AV) aids such as puppets, charts, models, flashcards, and flannel graphs for effective health education.
- Each student is provided with a Community Health Bag containing essential instruments for conducting health awareness and outreach activities in rural and urban areas.
